EllisMiller possess a unique combination of skills, experience and contacts, which allows us to provide a bespoke strategic consultancy service to both public and private sector clients. We have advised some of the UK's most successful large-scale public sector procurement projects, working client-side as either an expert advisor or a member of the core team, as well as providing strategic advice to a number of leading contractors, including Balfour Beatty, Carillion, Interserve and Wates, championing design quality on major projects across the country.
We advise the public sector on how to navigate complex procurement processes and manage private sector partners successfully to achieve high design quality and best value outcomes. We advise the private sector on how best practice public sector organisations procure projects and what the content and presentation of bids and design reviews should include in order to secure major public sector contracts.
As experienced practicing architects, our expertise is recognised within the industry. We have worked across all RIBA job stages and a range of sectors and budgets, creating high quality, award-winning, public and private sector buildings.
RIBA Chartered Client Design Advisors
As RIBA Chartered Client Design Advisors, EllisMiller have acted for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Nottingham City Council and Hertfordshire County Council, helping to translate their education visions into viable propositions that are affordable and deliverable. This has included working on the Bushey Hall, Francis Coombe, Bullwell and Bilborough Academies, as well as an all-through campus Academy at Maltby, Rotherham, which incorporates primary, special and community facilities.
For the £120m Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council BSF project, EllisMiller acted as advisors to the Local Authority's in-house technical team, as well as working directly with 4 secondary mainstream schools, a co-located Academy, a 3-19 special school and a PCP primary school. The visioning and briefing methodology we developed was used to inform the PfS commissioned web resource 'The Design Journey'.
The £300m Nottingham City Council BSF project was one of the most successful BSF procurements, delivering on time and on budget, and was named PfS LEP of the year in 2009. It included working with the first two Academies to be delivered through the BSF programme.
For the £1.5bn Hertfordshire County Council BSF project, EllisMiller worked as part of the core team to devise and implement a strategy for remodelling the entire Hertfordshire SEAC schools estate, including two Academies.
