Residential conversion of iconic grade II* listed Hoover Building

We are really pleased to be working on proposals to convert the Hoover Building on Western Avenue in London. The iconic Art Deco building is grade II* listed and was built originally as a factory before being used more recently as the Tesco HQ. Current proposals look to convert and extend the roof of the building to provide over 50 high quality apartments.

The design aims to preserve as much of the original character of the building, including the triple height crittal windows and entrance atrium. The existing roof and plant, which is in a poor state of repair, is replaced by a new contemporary structure comprising sinusoidal cladding and sloped rooflights. It simplifies the roof form and acts as a backdrop to the main elevation.

A planning application is due to be submitted this year, with a planning decision expected in 2016.
